Middle School Faith Formation Youth Ministry Program (Breakout) at St. Pius X meets every week throughout the school year, unless otherwise noted on the schedule, from 7:00 -8:30 pm. This program ministers to our sixth, seventh and eighth graders and their friends. The purpose of this program is to share our Catholic faith in a welcoming environment with the needs of middle school youth in mind. We address the educational, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the middle school youth.
The middle school years are about change and transition. As they grow and develop, they begin to experience a desire for independence and are both excited and scared at how their world is changing. Research indicates that positive, supportive relationships with adults/mentors can be a very positive and rewarding experience for youth at this age. Our Core Team provides this experience for our middle school.
For our middle school students not attending St. Pius X School, or any other Catholic school, participation in Breakout is mandatory for two years including the 8th grade year in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
