Monsignor Anthony J. Marcaccio, ordained in 1991, is Pastor of St. Pius the Tenth, in the Diocese of Charlotte. He was born in Michigan in 1963 the youngest of four children and grew up in Greenwood SC. He attended Francis Marion University and completed his graduate studies at The Catholic University of America. Monsignor Marcaccio is a member in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Knights of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Prior to his assignment to St. Pius the Tenth, Msgr. Marcaccio first served in Charlotte, then in mountain parishes of Western North Carolina and as Priest Secretary to Bishop William G. Curlin for five years. He also served as Vice Chancellor of the Diocese in 2002. Since his arrival at Saint Pius the Tenth in 2000, the parish became the first in the Diocese to establish endowments of over 1 million dollars, the Columbarium with its bell tower was constructed, and a new church was built and then dedicated in April 2010.
