Meet our Confirmation Teachers!

Dan Allen

St. Augustine of Hippo

Dan Allen was born in Greensboro and raised here along with stops in New York and Florida. Dan and Laurie were married by Father Frank at St Pius X in 2000 and Dan went through RCIA back in 2010 to convert to Catholicism. He feel in love with Catholic faith and felt compelled to share his testimony and work with the kids going through confirmation. So Dan signed up to help with faith formation and continues to grow in his faith along with the candidates he is working with.

I'm a graduate of College of Charleston, SC with a B.S. in Anthropology, which means I studied people and culture for 3.5 years! I enjoy interviewing people, observing different settings and learning more about how ideas and traditions come to be. I enjoy writing, especially concerning Catholic Apologetics and environmental stewardship. My favorite saints: Mary, Magdalene, Fulton Sheen, JPII, Philip Neri and Padre Pio. I have an affinity for the Rosary and believe everyone should continue to learn more about their faith and how to live it out each day.

Originally from Pennsylvania, I moved here with my family 10 years ago. During the day, I work with students who learn differently. At home, I'm the proud mom of 4 children (Timothy, Anna, Nadia & Kumar). In my free time, I volunteer with church ministries such as teaching Confirmation class.

I like working with confirmation students because I can show them that a life of faith is the best life they can live. I enjoy playing FIFA, listening to Christian hip-hop, hanging out with friends, and going to daily mass.

I am married to a beautiful and brilliant lady, Jennifer, who now works as a pharmacist after going back to school when our daughter started kindergarten. Kate is now in the eighth grade at SPX and is the joyful completion of our marriage. I work as a band director in Rockingham County and assist Mrs. Sallie Kelton on weekends she is away. I also lead the hand bell choir at church and help teach the seventh and eighth grade Confirmation classes for the young men in our parish.
