MINISTRIES AT ST. PIUS X
Our parish offers a wide variety of ministries for children, teens, adults, and families. Listed below are several of our general ministry areas. You can also browse and search for other ministries through our secure online community called REALM.
If you are interested in joining a ministry, please request to join the group through REALM or contact the parish office.
Community Life Ministries serve the parish and community by meeting service and spiritual needs. Sometimes these ministries are internal parish groups, and other times they are partnered with an outside organization. Community Life Ministries include the Sunshine Club, Backpack Beginnings, Men's Softball, Respect Life, Guys Doin' Stuff, Seniors Ministry, and more.
SOCIALS & HOSPITALITY
Socials and Hospitality Ministries include those groups that plan social events, organize meals, and welcome others to our parish. These include the Newcomers Ministry, Funeral Receptions, Socials Ministry, and more.
Liturgical ministries are those groups which participate in the planning and execution of our Masses and liturgies. There are opportunities for youth and adults to serve during the liturgy. Examples include Altar Serving, Ministers of the Word (Lectors), Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers), Sacristans, Funeral Liturgy Planning, and all of our Music Ministries.
FAITH FORMATION & EVANGELIZATION
These ministries are designed to educate children through adults about the Catholic Faith and Christian Discipleship. We also have ministry teams set up to help bring Christ to others and assist with Vocational discernment.
YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS
Through a variety of social, spiritual, and service activities, our youth and young adults remain an engaged and important part of our parish. Youth groups for both middle and high school meet regularly, and the Greensboro-area young adults group is based out of St. Pius X. Volunteers for our youth programming are always needed!
These ministries require a membership to an outside organization, but serve the parish and community in a variety of ways. Anyone is welcome to inquire about joining and membership information will be provided. These organizations include the Knights of Columbus, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc.
PARISH & STAFF SUPPORT
Help keep our parish running smoothly and looking great, or support the parish staff by taking a leadership role or assisting with administrative duties. These ministries include our Grounds & Gardens crew, Parish Council, Office Volunteers, among other groups.
By providing you with concrete opportunities to serve, the Stewardship Ministry Guide helps to discern how to know, love & serve the Lord. Our most recent guide was published in February 2018. Please call the Parish Office if you would like a hard copy of the ministry guide.
