WHAT IS YOUTH MINISTRY?

Youth Ministry is designed to serve students age 12-18.

The focus of this ministry is on the growth and development of the Church's ministry with adolescents through eight components: ministries of advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership development, pastoral care, and prayer and worship.

Effective Youth Ministry is built on relationships, is goal-centered, is multi-dimensional, holistic, people-centered, and needs-focused.

Our goals at St. Pius X Youth Ministry are to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today, to draw young people into responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community, and to foster the total personal growth of each young person. YOUTH MINISTRY AT ST. PIUS X
Youth at St. Pius X participate year-round in social gatherings, faith enrichment opportunities, service projects, prayer and worship nights, and youth trips. Students of any faith are welcome to participate.

Ginny Forsyth
Female Youth Ministry Volunteer
Ginny works as a customer service representative for Team Connection in High Point. In her free time she loves to reenact bible stories in full costume and also enjoys being outdoors!

Antonio is a freshman at UNCG studying biology. Antonio was very involved in our youth ministry program in high school and is so very excited to be on our leader team this year!

Kim is a dental hygienist and she takes super good care of Isabel's teeth and is a wonderful chaperone. More importantly Kim is a great mom of two and wife!

Carri works at University of Carolina Greensboro in the Math deparment and has two teens in our high school ministry! Carri enjoys singing and acting and we love Carri!

Joe Henderson
Male Youth Ministry Volunteer
Moved to North Carolina in 2013 from Pennsylvania. Teach middle school math at Southeast Guilford. Coach baseball and basketball at various levels. Have attended St. Pius X since I have moved down here. Was married by Monsignor to my wife Jami in October of 2017. We have 2 little Teacup Yorkies names Teensie and Ellie. I joined youth group as a volunteer because I use to run a very small one in Pennsylvania and I felt like I was a spectator Catholic and really wasn't contributing to my faith.

Jake is an electrical engineer at Qorvo. He enjoys camping, kayaing, and anything outdoors! Jake also teaches Confirmation Classes at St. Pius X.
