A LETTER FROM PARISH COUNCIL
Dear Fellow Parishioners:
In direct response to the valued feedback received from Parishioners during the Vision 2025 planning process, this Parish Council page has been created and populated with important Parish Council information for your review. It is the sincere hope of the entire Parish Council that you will visit this page regularly as a resource to help maximize the fulfillment of your SPX Parish life.
Should you have any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding the activities of the Parish Council, or want to request the Parish Council discuss any specific matter, the entire Parish Council welcomes your input. The Parish Council may be reached via the feedback form at the bottom of this page. Your submission, which may be made anonymously if you so choose, will automatically and immediately be distributed to each member of the Parish Council.
As we look forward to beginning our 2021-2022 Parish Council year in August, we will keep this page updated with meeting dates, times and locations, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and any other relevant Parish Council materials. Henceforth, please also expect to read regular Parish Council updates in both the bulletin and in Echoes.

2021-2022 SPX Parish Council
PURPOSE & FUNCTION
It is important to remember the purpose and function of the Parish Council, which is, in summary, to:
Serve as a consultative vision sharing body for the Pastor, focused on the entire ministry of the Parish;
Provide Parishioner feedback to the Pastor; and
Review annually the implementation and maintenance of the Pastoral Plan, aka the Vision plan.
The Council is comprised of 12 Parishioners as appointed by the Pastor. Unless there are resignations that may disrupt the cadence, four (4) new members are selected annually to replace outgoing members, which members are divided evenly into three (3) groups with staggered three-year terms. Please note that, due to the 2020-21 COVID-interrupted year, term limits were extended for all Parish Council members for an additional year. Please also note that consistent with the bylaws of the School, the president of the School Board will be asked to attend each Parish Council meeting.

Unless otherwise modified, the SPX Parish Council meets August – June, once per month, on the fourth Monday evening of the month, beginning at 7 pm, in the Simmons Center.
All Parish Council meetings are OPEN MEETINGS to parishioners. If you desire to attend a meeting of the Parish Council, please contact the Parish Council via the feedback form to confirm your attendance so that an appropriately sized meeting space may be reserved.
